SOYA PAKORA
Yummy snack for anytime with the added nutrition of soya (I used nutrela).
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 cup of soya chunks cooked( as per directions on pack) and make sure to squeeze excess water out and then slice.
1 cup of besan flour
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1 tsp ginger/garlic paste
1-2 finely diced green chillies ( optional)
Finely diced coriander leaves
pinch of chilli powder
pinch of turmeric
pinch of bicarb soda
pinch of cardomon powder
salt to taste
water (to make a batter)
WHAT YOU DO:
1. Cook soya chunks as per direction on the packet and drain, squeeze out excess water and then dice or shred.
2. Mix besan flour with spices and slowly add a little water to make a thick paste. ( be careful not to make it too runny as if the soya still has too much water in the mixture will become very runny).
3. Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli, onion and coriander leaves. Followed by soya chunks and mix to combine. Should be a thick enough batter that a spoon can only just stand up but not too thick that the mixture will not fall off the spoon easily.
4. Set aside for 20 mins to allow the soya to absorb the flavours.
5. Heat oil and deep fry spoonfuls till golden brown and serve immediately.
